Office Chair Gas Cylinders, is one of the key parts to realize the height adjustment function of office chairs. It is also called office chair gas spring or office chair gas lift, or simply office chair cylinder, with which users can adjust the height of the chair for comfort.
How it works:
- Inside the cylinder is filled with nitrogen gas
- When you press the button on the top of the cylinder, it opens a valve inside the cylinder,The piston and pneumatic rod in the cylinder move up and down to control the lifting of the chair
- If you’re sitting on the chair, your weight compresses the gas and the chair lowers
- If you’re not sitting or reduce your weight, the gas pushes the piston up and the chair rises
How to read the Specifications of Gas Cylinders
The universal gas cylinders generally have an outer tube with a diameter of ∅50 and an inner tube with a diameter of ∅28. (The general gas cylinder diagram is as follows)
V = Length of outer tube
L2 = The longest extended length
B = Stroke
The Class of Our Gas Cylinder
Gas lift cylinders are categorized into four classes based on the thickness of the stand pipe and the outer tube walls. The rule of thumb is simple – the thicker the walls, the higher the grade, and consequently, the better the quality.
Therefore, the thickness of the stand pipe and the outer tube is very important.
According to the different load capacity of the gas cylinders, they are divided into four classes.
